JFS is a community organization that Includes programs like:

  • Family Case Management: resource and system navigation help for families in today’s difficult economic climate
  • Project Chessed: a referral network of health care providers who partner with Jewish Family Service to provide pro-bono care to medically uninsured Jewish adults.
  • Housing Assistance: in cooperation with Jewish Housing Association, Hebrew Free Loan, and the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, JFS helps to ensure, assist and support affordable housing options for a growing number of Jewish families who are unable to keep up their mortgage payments.
  • The Friendship House: Is a division of the Friendship Circle dedicated to helping people in the community who are struggling with addiction. If you need support a family member who needs support, the Friendship house’s doors are always open. They specialize in internalizing the 12 steps in a Jewish environment. There is also a long term sober living facility for men.

The Shul: The Shul of West Bloomfield is a Chabad House that is open to all individuals who want a spiritual place to come and pray any day of the week. There is a Hebrew school for children and adult education classes as well. There is a community Passover Seder on Thursday April 19th C

MJI: Is the only Jewish University in Michigan offering degrees in Business, Computers, and Judaic Studies. With courses both in the classroom and Online.
